About the Leader globe valves range

Concept Engineers is an authorised Leader distributor. This page lists every Leader globe valve we carry — 39 families covering 8 mm to 600 mm, in 6 body materials.

A globe valve's disc can be renewable or integral with the body, and that choice decides whether a worn seat is a maintenance job or a replacement. A renewable disc costs more up front and is the cheaper valve to own on any line that gets throttled often.

The Leader range here is supplied in carbon steel WCB for steam and higher pressures, gunmetal to IS 318 LTB-2 for potable and general water service, forged carbon steel A105 on small-bore high-pressure lines and cast iron to IS 210 for larger bores on water duty, and 1 more. What the line carries, and how hot it runs, decide the body. Those two facts narrow the choice before bore, class or budget are considered at all.

Sizes run across 8–25 mm, 32–50 mm, 65–100 mm, 125–200 mm and 250–600 mm. Construction usually changes with the size rather than continuing unbroken: small bores are screwed and made in a copper alloy, while the larger end of the range is flanged and cast.

Ends available are Flanged, Screwed BSP (parallel) and Socket weld. This is worth confirming against the pipework drawing rather than assumed: changing a valve's end connection after delivery means changing the pipework.

Ratings in this range are PN 16, PN 40, PN 25 and Class 150. Specifying a class above the duty costs money and weight for nothing; specifying below it is the failure that is found the hard way.

This range is manufactured to IS 778, BS 1873 and BS 5154. Where a tender names a standard, quoting it back on the enquiry is what stops an approved substitution being queried later.

Where an inspection certificate or an IBR form is required, say so with the enquiry — it is arranged with the manufacturer at order stage and cannot be added to a valve already despatched.

An enquiry for globe valves is quickest to price when it states the medium and the working temperature, which decide bonnet and trim as well as the sizes and quantities. Without it we have to come back and ask, which adds a day to the quotation for no reason.

Every price here is the current list price before GST. Send a schedule and we will price it against your quantities.
