About the Sant butterfly valves range

Every Sant butterfly valve we supply is listed on this page: 15 families spanning 40 mm to 600 mm, in 2 body materials.

A butterfly range is really two decisions stacked: what the liner has to tolerate, and how the disc gets turned once the bore is too large for a hand lever. Wafer construction is cheapest and the most common; a lugged body is what a specification is really asking for when it says the line has to be broken on one side without draining the other.

The Sant range here is supplied in cast iron to IS 210 for larger bores on water duty and ductile iron to IS 1865 where the line sees shock, vibration or a buried, long-service duty. The medium chooses the material. Cost only breaks a tie between two bodies that both suit the duty, and a body that fails on temperature is not cheaper for having cost less.

Bores available are 40–50 mm, 65–100 mm, 125–200 mm and 250–600 mm. Above roughly 50 mm the pattern shifts to flanged cast bodies, and flange drilling, weight and lifting become part of the order rather than an afterthought.

Pressure classes cover PN 16, PN 10, PN 20 and PN 25. The class is a rating on the body, not a statement about the line: a valve is selected on the pressure and temperature it will actually see in service.

Where an inspection certificate or an IBR form is required, say so with the enquiry — it is arranged with the manufacturer at order stage and cannot be added to a valve already despatched.

Send the medium and temperature, which decide the seat liner, and the size at which you want a gear operator rather than a lever with the schedule when you enquire about butterfly valves. Sizes and quantities alone leave the one question open that decides which valve is actually correct.
