About the Sant ball valves range

This is the full Sant ball valve range we are authorised to supply — 14 families, 8 mm to 100 mm, across 6 body materials.

Ball valves are picked for lines that are operated often, where a quarter turn and a visible lever position are worth more than fine control. Across a range the real choices are the body split, the seat material and whether the bore is full or reduced — a reduced bore costs less and adds a pressure drop that matters on long runs.

The Sant range here is supplied in carbon steel WCB for steam and higher pressures, cast iron to IS 210 for larger bores on water duty, forged brass on small-bore service lines and CF8 stainless where the medium attacks a copper alloy, and 2 more. What the line carries, and how hot it runs, decide the body. Those two facts narrow the choice before bore, class or budget are considered at all.

Bores available are 8–25 mm, 32–50 mm and 65–100 mm. Above roughly 50 mm the pattern shifts to flanged cast bodies, and flange drilling, weight and lifting become part of the order rather than an afterthought.

End connections run to Flanged, Screwed BSP (parallel) and Socket weld. The connection has to be settled against the mating pipework before a size is ordered — a flanged valve and a screwed one are not interchangeable on an installed line.

The range is rated PN 25 and PN 40. Class is chosen against the duty, including any surge the line sees, rather than against the nominal system pressure alone.

Test certificates are available against the order where the product carries them. It is worth confirming the requirement before the order is placed rather than at delivery.

An enquiry for ball valves is quickest to price when it states whether the duty needs a full bore or tolerates a reduced one as well as the sizes and quantities. Without it we have to come back and ask, which adds a day to the quotation for no reason.

Prices are ex-GST list. Where a size is not shown, ask — the range extends beyond what is held as standard.
