About the DRP gate valves range

This is the full DRP gate valve range we are authorised to supply — 5 families, 8 mm to 150 mm, across 1 body material.

Inside-screw and outside-screw-and-yoke are two different ways of driving the same wedge, and the choice is about what the operator can see, not just cost. An outside screw shows the stem rising as the valve opens, which is the only way to confirm position without cracking the line open.

The DRP range here is supplied in gunmetal to IS 318 LTB-2 for potable and general water service. Material is decided by the medium and the temperature before it is decided by price: a body that suits cold water will not necessarily suit the same line carrying steam.

Sizes span 8–25 mm, 32–50 mm, 65–100 mm and 150 mm. Across that range the construction changes more than once, so a size at the top of the range and one at the bottom are related products rather than the same product in two sizes.

End connections run to Screwed BSP (parallel) and Flanged. The connection has to be settled against the mating pipework before a size is ordered — a flanged valve and a screwed one are not interchangeable on an installed line.

Construction is to IS 778 and JIS 5K. That is the reference to quote if the valve has to be approved by a consultant before the order is released.

Where an inspection certificate or an IBR form is required, say so with the enquiry — it is arranged with the manufacturer at order stage and cannot be added to a valve already despatched.

An enquiry for gate valves is quickest to price when it states the flange standard the mating pipework is drilled to as well as the sizes and quantities. Without it we have to come back and ask, which adds a day to the quotation for no reason.
