About the DRP ball valves range

This is the full DRP ball valve range we are authorised to supply — 9 families, 8 mm to 100 mm, across 2 body materials.

A ball valve range sold in matching full-bore and reduced-bore lines at the same nominal size is not two prices for the same product — a full-bore valve costs more because it's genuinely a larger ball and body inside the same end-to-end length, not a mark-up on an identical casting.

The DRP range here is supplied in forged brass on small-bore service lines and bronze for water and low-pressure steam. Material is decided by the medium and the temperature before it is decided by price: a body that suits cold water will not necessarily suit the same line carrying steam.

Sizes span 8–25 mm, 32–50 mm and 65–100 mm. Across that range the construction changes more than once, so a size at the top of the range and one at the bottom are related products rather than the same product in two sizes.

The range is supplied with Screwed BSP (parallel) and Flanged ends. Which one is right is a question about the line, not about the valve, and it is the detail most often left off an enquiry.

Construction is to BS 10 Table D. That is the reference to quote if the valve has to be approved by a consultant before the order is released.

Works test certificates and material certificates can be supplied with the consignment where the standard calls for them, but they have to be asked for at the time of order rather than afterwards.

When you send an enquiry for ball valves, include whether the duty needs a full bore or tolerates a reduced one alongside the sizes and quantities. It is the detail that most often has to be chased before a quotation can be priced, and supplying it up front saves a round trip.
