DRP bronze Ball Valve, Flanged (BS 10 Table D, for Petroleum Industries), available 50 mm. A quarter turn takes a ball valve from shut to fully open, which makes it the practical choice wherever a line is operated often. The bore through the ball gives tight shut-off and low resistance when open. The bronze body gives good corrosion resistance in water service and holds its seating faces over repeated operation. Flanged ends make the valve straightforward to remove for servicing without cutting pipe, and are the norm once bore and weight rule out threaded joints.
