About the Kartar foot valves range
This is the full Kartar foot valve range we are authorised to supply — 3 families, 50 mm to 400 mm, across 2 body materials.
The range is selected on duty first and size second. Medium, working pressure and temperature between them decide the material and the class; the bore only decides which line it fits.
The Kartar range here is supplied in cast iron to IS 210 for larger bores on water duty and ductile iron to IS 1865 where the line sees shock, vibration or a buried, long-service duty. What the line carries, and how hot it runs, decide the body. Those two facts narrow the choice before bore, class or budget are considered at all.
Sizes run across 50 mm, 65–100 mm, 125–200 mm and 250–400 mm. Construction usually changes with the size rather than continuing unbroken: small bores are screwed and made in a copper alloy, while the larger end of the range is flanged and cast.
Construction is to IS 4038. That is the reference to quote if the valve has to be approved by a consultant before the order is released.
Works test certificates and material certificates can be supplied with the consignment where the standard calls for them, but they have to be asked for at the time of order rather than afterwards.
To quote foot valves properly we need the medium, the working pressure and the temperature in addition to sizes and quantities. Everything else on the enquiry can be inferred; that cannot.
