About the L&T check valves range

We hold the L&T agency directly. The L&T check valve range runs to 4 families, 15 mm to 600 mm, in 3 body materials.

A check valve range often quietly changes its trim partway through, and that change is worth reading rather than assuming: a plain bronze seat wears where a stainless-fitted seat or a Teflon disc would not, particularly against water that carries any grit or scale. Two check valves at the same bore and the same price bracket are not always built to the same service life.

The L&T range here is supplied in carbon steel WCB for steam and higher pressures, cast iron to IS 210 for larger bores on water duty and forged carbon steel A105 on small-bore high-pressure lines. Getting the material right is the part of the specification that cannot be corrected on site. The medium and the working temperature settle it; the size does not enter into it.

Bores available are 15–25 mm, 40–50 mm, 65–100 mm, 125–200 mm and 250–600 mm. Above roughly 50 mm the pattern shifts to flanged cast bodies, and flange drilling, weight and lifting become part of the order rather than an afterthought.

You can have Flanged, Wafer and Screwed BSP (parallel) ends on this range. Matching the connection to what is already installed is the difference between a valve that is fitted in an afternoon and one that waits for a fabricator.

The range is rated Class 150, Class 300, PN 16 and Class 800. Class is chosen against the duty, including any surge the line sees, rather than against the nominal system pressure alone.

Works test certificates and material certificates can be supplied with the consignment where the standard calls for them, but they have to be asked for at the time of order rather than afterwards.

To quote check valves properly we need the line's orientation and whether the pump can reverse against a static head in addition to sizes and quantities. Everything else on the enquiry can be inferred; that cannot.
