Zoloto’s butterfly Valve (Wafer Type), PN 2.5 with S.G Iron Disc Body S.G Iron, Lever Operated, Nit is supplied in 40 mm to 150 mm. Butterfly valves become the economical choice as bore increases: the disc rotates within the body rather than lifting clear of it, so the valve stays short and light where a gate valve would be neither. Lever operated, so the position is readable from across a plant room. Ductile iron carries considerably more strength and impact resistance than grey cast iron for the same section — the reason it is specified for buried and higher-pressure mains.
