Veeson cast Steel Globe Stop Valve, Flange Ends (PN-40), available 15 mm to 100 mm. A regulating valve. The disc approaches the seat square-on, which is why it tolerates throttling that would wreck a wedge. A cast carbon steel body to ASTM A216 WCB handles the temperatures and pressures of steam and hot oil, where bronze or iron would not be rated. Flanged connections allow the valve to come out for overhaul with the pipework left in place. Usual duties are bypass lines, feed regulation and any point where flow has to be set and held.
