Sant’s DI Resilient Seated Gate/Sluice Valve is supplied in 50 mm to 300 mm at PN 20. Gate valves isolate rather than regulate: the wedge lifts clear of the bore, so an open valve costs almost no pressure drop. Ductile iron carries considerably more strength and impact resistance than grey cast iron for the same section — the reason it is specified for buried and higher-pressure mains. Flanged connections allow the valve to come out for overhaul with the pipework left in place. Common duties are pump room headers, tank isolation and utility branches where the valve sits open for months at a time.
