Leader gate Valve (Bolted Bonnet, O/S & Yoke Type, Rising Stem), available 50 mm to 600 mm at Class 900. The straight-through bore means an open gate valve behaves much like a length of pipe. The rising stem shows the valve’s position at a glance, which is worth having on a valve that is operated rarely and needs to be verified shut — allow headroom above it. A cast carbon steel body to ASTM A216 WCB handles the temperatures and pressures of steam and hot oil, where bronze or iron would not be rated. Flanged ends make the valve straightforward to remove for servicing without cutting pipe, and are the norm once bore and weight rule out threaded joints.
