Leader’s butterfly Valve, Wafer Type, Ductile Iron Disc, EN 593 (Lever Operated) is supplied in 40 mm to 300 mm at PN 16. Butterfly valves become the economical choice as bore increases: the disc rotates within the body rather than lifting clear of it, so the valve stays short and light where a gate valve would be neither. Lever operated, so the position is readable from across a plant room. The IS 210 cast iron body is the economical choice at larger bores. It suits steady water service but not lines that see mechanical shock. A wafer body adds almost nothing to the length of the pipe run.
