Description
Kartar’s D.I. Sluice Valve (Rising Stem, PN 16) is supplied in 50 mm to 600 mm at PN 16. Sluice valves handle bulk water isolation at the bore sizes where gate valves in smaller patterns stop being practical — pumping mains, treatment plant headers and distribution networks. The rising stem shows the valve’s position at a glance, which is worth having on a valve that is operated rarely and needs to be verified shut — allow headroom above it. Ductile iron carries considerably more strength and impact resistance than grey cast iron for the same section — the reason it is specified for buried and higher-pressure mains. Flanged connections allow the valve to come out for overhaul with the pipework left in place. Full dimensions and current pricing for every size are listed in the table above.
