Covering 40 mm to 300 mm, this is Veeson’s cast Iron Butterfly Valve, S.S. Disc (CF-8), Gear Operated (PN-16). The disc stays in the flow path when open, which costs a little pressure drop but keeps the valve short, light and cheap to support. Gear operation keeps the effort manageable at the larger bores, where a lever would need more force than one person can apply. Grey cast iron to IS 210 keeps the cost sensible in the larger sizes, provided the duty is steady rather than shock-loaded. Lugged bodies bolt to each flange independently, so downstream pipework can be removed with the valve still holding the line.
