Sant cast Steel Y Type Strainer, available 40 mm to 200 mm. Strainers protect what sits downstream. A mesh screen catches scale, weld spatter and pipe debris before it reaches a pump impeller, a meter register or a control valve seat, and the screen lifts out for cleaning without breaking the line. A cast carbon steel body to ASTM A216 WCB handles the temperatures and pressures of steam and hot oil, where bronze or iron would not be rated. Flanged ends make the valve straightforward to remove for servicing without cutting pipe, and are the norm once bore and weight rule out threaded joints.
