Honeywell’s manual Butterfly Valve,Gearbox operated,100mm Stem (DI Disc, 100 mm Extended Stem) is supplied in 250 mm to 300 mm at PN 16. Butterfly valves become the economical choice as bore increases: the disc rotates within the body rather than lifting clear of it, so the valve stays short and light where a gate valve would be neither. Gear operation keeps the effort manageable at the larger bores, where a lever would need more force than one person can apply. A wafer body adds almost nothing to the length of the pipe run.
