Covering 40 mm to 350 mm at PN 16, this is Leader’s y-Type Strainer, Flanged BS 10 Table E. Fitted upstream of pumps, meters and control valves to catch debris that would otherwise damage them. The removable screen means the strainer can be serviced in place; the mesh should be chosen for the medium rather than by default. Grey cast iron to IS 210 keeps the cost sensible in the larger sizes, provided the duty is steady rather than shock-loaded.
